Siem Reap III

Ta Prohm has a romantic appeal..overgrown and gently declining, yet with hidden corners and mysterious spots..

Ta Prohm

One of the major temples of Jayavarman VII, a temple-monastery, Ta Prohm features a set of concentric galleries with corner towers. The complexity of its layout is increased by its partly collapsed state, with trees interlaced among the ruins. A significant amount of work was done to prevent further collapse and enough clearing of vegetation to allow entry. The trees intertwined among the ruins are mainly silk-cotton tree and strangler fig.
